How We're Helping
Black Business Professionals of Southeast Texas (BBPSETX) mission is to recognize, connect, share, and grow underutilized businesses and professionals in the Southeast Texas area. We also aim to identify those who can be role models to not only the younger community, but to anyone who needs inspiration. Our mission and goal is to work together to help improve the lives of others, foster the future of the next generation, and improve our communities. We are a group of individuals who believe in giving more than we receive. With the help of fundraisers, exciting community-building events, and in-depth training sessions we will help to improve the lives of others, one step at a time.
Get Involved
We are dedicated and focused on mentoring our youth, not forgetting the elderly, helping others achieve goals, and assisting in improving the lives of those around us.
The specific objectives and purpose of this organization is to be active agents of change in the community; provide opportunities for networking and mentorship for small business owners; to be committed to mentoring young children, and to sponsor, host, and/or participate in events and activities that promote entrepreneurship, education, and recognition of individuals in the Southeast Texas area.
Our event goals are aimed at being role models to the youth, showing love to those who came before us, reaching back and helping those who need us, and having a camaraderie of like-minded individuals. Are you passionate about what we're doing? Join us!

In 2017, Black Business Women of Southeast Texas and Black Business Men of Southeast Texas was formed. The founder, Dawanna Jones, recognized that there were many successful Black entrepreneurs and professionals in the area who needed to be encouraged and supported. Working with others, the two organizations were combined to form Black Business Professionals of Southeast Texas in 2018 as a community-based organization focused on recognizing, uplifting, supporting, and developing Black business professionals in Southeast Texas.
BBP SETX aims to provide networking opportunities with like-minded professionals as well as opportunities to work together to help improve the lives of others, foster the future of the next generation and improve our communities. We are group of individuals who believe in giving more than we receive.
